It was a premiere of a special kind: Yesterday evening, we officially opened the new Satellite Office at Kurfürstendamm 15 – in an incredibly prestigious building, the former Film-Palast Gloria Berlin. The office was already occupied during the lockdown, but could only now be inaugurated in style as the history of the house dictates: Marlene Dietrich, Hildegard Knef, Joseph Roth and many others once went in and out of the Gloria Berlin, it was a place of longing for literati, artists and the bohemians of Berlin.
In keeping with the tradition of the house, we celebrated the inauguration glamorously: Among the guests were numerous well-known business people as well as many artists and members of the press, among others. After the welcoming speech by Anita Gödiker, CEO of Satellite Office, the audience had the opportunity to stroll through the luxurious premises and discover the combination of puristic design and original details such as stucco ceilings, tiled stoves or Mampe elephants for themselves.
Despite the hustle and bustle of the reception on this particular evening, it was possible to sense the concentrated atmosphere that prevails at Gloria Berlin during office hours: “The design and concept of the rooms are based on deep work – on productive work that is not disturbed and at the same time provides stimuli for creative downtime – in specially screened areas, protected break-out areas or soundproofed cubes,” says Anita Gödiker, explaining the furnishings according to the pureSilent concept, which it developed itself. The Gloria Berlin is a prime example of pureSilent and Anita Gödiker’s commitment to advancing Deep Work.
Another highlight of the opening evening were the photographs by Josef Fischnaller, which can be admired on the occasion of the opening at KUD15. In his works, the contemporary artist impressively brings yesterday into the present and places people – friends, acquaintances and celebrities – in a historical context: an approach that could not be more fitting for Satellite Office: “We, too, are looking for links to history, preserving the old in order to create something new from it,” says Anita Gödiker. Gloria Berlin has definitely succeeded in giving the past a place in the future – in a sleek and highly attractive way. Incidentally, he staged Anita Gödiker as “Marlene 2.0” with his camera a few weeks ago – as a tribute to the great history of the site.
It was an all-around successful evening, full of glitz & glamour and especially a lot of good humor, which we will remember for a long time.
